About
Dominic Weston is a factual television Series Producer, Producer-Director & Writer specialising in ambitious projects. He combines strong narratives with compelling storytelling to create impactful factual stories, with a rich sense of drama.
Dominic has worked in adventure, wildlife, history & archaeology, children's & animation, including extensive dramatic reconstruction and CGI.
He started his career at the legendarily eccentric Partridge Films and his projects have taken him from Arabia to Zambia, making shows for broadcasters on both sides of the Atlantic.
As well as producing series for the BBC Natural History Unit, National Geographic & Sky Nature, Dominic was a key member of the team that delivered the global hit show “River Monsters”, writing and directing six episodes, including three feature-length specials:
- Legend of Loch Ness - the highest viewing figures at the time of any River Monsters episode.
- Amazon Apocalypse – at that time the most-watched season opener in Animal Planet history, with the most complex reconstructions ever tackled.
- Prehistoric Terrors – River Monsters takes on prehistoric 3D CGI in a landmark co-production with Discovery Canada.
Dominic's work is always underpinned by very strong writing skills, a considerable knowledge of post-production and a reassuringly supportive role in creating and maintaining team dynamics.
Outside of work Dominic is an avid poet, cook and runner, and his favourite stomping ground is across the long whale-backs of the Mendip Hills in Somerset.
